The job
I am not a fan of lethargy and procrastination. What inspires me is to make my day utmost productive, juicing out the maximum from it. And to solve as many problems, plan as much we can and never lose track of the bigger picture.
The weekdays
I start my day early at about 6am with a cup of tea and a few pages of the latest book I am reading. It is like having a gym routine for my mind — builds up my momentum and gets me started. I hit the gym by 7am thrice a week. I am in office between 8:30-9am. The first thing I glance at is my calendar. I have a pretty scheduled week — even the year. Almost 70% of my year is calendarised at the beginning of January! The first few hours of the day are planned meetings. Updates, reports, strategy, and all that is war is kept for the early hours. The second half is focussed on operations and creative projects.
The weekend
Weekends are work too but with lower intensity. I get creative ideas over the weekend, usually when I am less involved with the day-to-day business. I steal long weekends and do a short trip. I have started combining business and personal trips whenever possible. Usually the first stop in any new city is the local grocery store — there is so much you can learn about the daily life, the culture and the economy just by visiting the local grocer.
