As Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Ayurved on Tuesday announced its partnership with eight online platforms in a move to push sales of its range of products; the yoga guru made another noteworthy declaration today. During the launch event, Baba Ramdev made it very clear that Patanjali will never collaborate or get into a partnership with any foreign company. Ramdev Baba interacting with the media said, ”Patanjali will never get into partnership with foreign-based companies at any cost. Since Patanjali is converting into a non-profitable organisation there is no question of any collaboration with any other company.” Nevertheless, he also mentioned that if any company or institution is interested in lending monetary help, the amount will only be accepted as a loan.
Explaining the reason behind going online, Baba Ramdev explained that he and Patanjali MD Acharya Balakrishnan have millions of followers and Patanjali is among the most searched online brands. He also informed that the FMCG brand witnessed a hike in sales-growth of 10 crores in December, last year. When asked about his foray into clothing and restaurant business, Ramdev said, “This month we are launching Divya Jal, our drinking water. Patanjali Paridhan is working on the back end of the textile section, maybe this year during Diwali or by January 2019 we will be launching this as well which will boast of 3000 products. Kids wear, yoga wear, sportswear and even accessories will be available here.” The yoga guru also made people aware of fraudsters who are deceiving people in the pretext of offering Patanjali distributorship and jobs.

The partnerships with etailers will be in addition to its own portal patanjaliayurved.net, where the company is selling its products online. The e-commerce launch was announced in the presence of Acharya Balakrishnana along with the founders and CEO’s of leading e-retailer Hari Menon (Bigbasket), Amit Sinha (Paytm Mall), Kalyan Krishnamyrthy (Flipkart), Saurabh Kumar (Grofers) and Manish Tiwary (Amazon India).
