1. The job: I have donned many hats ? from working in a consumer electronics company to being the operations head in a newspaper division to launching the leading non-metro radio brand 94.3 MY. I have loved all the challenges that have come my way. The opportunity to spearhead innovations within the brand and the business operations to maintain the dynamic performance of MY FM makes my job an exciting one. My job offers a great blend of innovation, creativity and analytics. I love the challenge of selling the medium in new markets and convincing advertisers that radio can be used to build brands rather than just a medium for tactical campaigns.
Coming to what I dislike, it’s the tantrums of young and inexperienced talent.
2. The weekdays: My day begins with a morning walk and yoga to rejuvenate the body and the mind followed by a healthy breakfast. I enjoy my drive to the office by listening to the radio. A usual working day begins with penning down short-term goals to be accomplished for that day followed by a programming review with all the business and programming heads. The MY FM workforce is more like a family. I bond with the senior team over lunch where conversations are a mix of formal and casual topics. The day progresses with business follow-ups and review meets with different departments.
3. The weekend: My weekend begins from Friday evening. Nothing gives me more happiness than being with my family and being able to spend quality time with them. Saturdays are usually all about shopping, watching movies and dining out with my family. Sundays are a bit more relaxing, if I am not playing golf or socialising with friends and extended family.
4. The toys: I simply can?t do without my iPad and BlackBerry.
5. The logos: My favourite brands are Mont Blanc, Apple and BMW.
