Nissan will soon give the Sunny sedan, the ‘caaaar’, a new kiss of life. The 2014 model facelift was showcased at the Auto Expo and it is expected to be at showrooms by the end of this month. Sunny sedan has been facing stiff competition in the C-segment lately. Cars such as Honda City and Hyundai Verna grabbed the market, thrashing down its sales in the Indian market. The facelift would give Sunny a new lease of life and will certainly boost the sales.
Nissan Sunny is based on the ‘V’ platform sharing it with the sibling Micra hatch. The new version is all set to reclaim lost ground with major exterior and interior upgrade. Starting from the outside, the car now gets a bigger grille with company claiming it could be another compelling style statement. The Nissan badge takes the center stage on the grille. The Teana like headlamp cluster is also revamped going deeper into the front fender. Chrome enhancement around the central air dam and the fog lamps differentiates it from the current model, posing a more grown-up look. The side profile is restructured with mirror-mounted side blinkers and chrome finishing across the window line. The sloping roofline gently runs into the seamlessly integrated boot. The new set of Y-spoke alloy wheels is also on the list of updates. Rear profile is somewhat similar to the ongoing model but receives chrome touching for added style and premiumness.
The 2014 Sunny receives host of improvements inside. The central console gets Piano Black finishing. The Terrano borrowed steering wheel with aluminum inserts and mounted audio control looks appealing. Silver finish on the gear knob and chrome touching on parking brake lever adds the premium touch. The central console also adds up a new infotainment system that features 6.1-inch touchscreen panel. The infotainment system gives access to navigation and reversing camera while USB, Bluetooth and Aux-In inputs are there for music fanatics. Sunny also comes with air-conditioner with auto climate control. Comfort level doesn't ends here. The spaciousness, for which this ‘caaaar’ is known for, is still unbeaten. The leather adorned seats with perforated leather section ensures maximum comfort every time you hit the road. The rear passengers with plenty of knee and legroom enjoy relaxing position in comparison to close rivals. Sunny also gets a massive boot space of 490-litres.
