The Bangalore Urban district administration Saturday cleared 3.2 acre land, including the Bagmane Tech Park, of encroachers.
Bangalore Urban district’s deputy commissioner G C Prakash tech park authorities had illegally fenced off 30 guntas of vacant land which was a part of Kaggadasapura-Byrasandra lake and has now been cleared. Another 10 gunta land is still with the park authorities because they have obtained a court stay against the demolishing of their building. “We will demolish the buildings belonging and clear the encroachment soon as stay order is dismissed,” Prakash said. In all, 5.39 acres of land had been encroached, he added.
The cleared land has been handed over to the Bangalore Development Authority, which plans to develop the lake at a cost of Rs 7.3 crore.
Many sheds and houses were demolished in Saturday’s clearing operation.
But Adarsha Apartment, the Bagmane Tech Park and one Ramaiah, who has built small sheds on 30 gunta of land, managed to get stay orders against the clearance.
“We will clear that land after we get a go ahead from the court,’’ Prakash said.
