XIMB’s biggest event Xpressions kicks off

Xpressions, which is the annual fest of the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar and the biggest B-school event of eastern India , kicked off on Thursday.

Xpressions, which is the annual fest of the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) and the biggest B-school event of eastern India , kicked off on Thursday.

Hundreds of undergraduate students from as many as 25 colleges participated in Helios, a game aimed at creating awareness among college students about managerial skills and business avenues.

Helios was followed by Conclave, a panel discussion. Participants were Krishna Angara, director of operations, Vodafone; M Siddiqui, director of projects, Vedanta Industries; Tamal Dasgupta, senior vice-president, Wipro; and Rajeev Dubey, editor, Business World.

“Given the prize money involved and the number of participants, Xpressions is the biggest event organised by any B-school in eastern India ,” said Vivek Toshniwal of the XIMB’s media cell.

Toshniwal said Rs 45 lakh is at stake as prize money at Xpressions 2007, as against Rs 25 lakh last year.

There are over 5000 participants this year. Rohit Arya, also a member of the media cell, expects a footfall of 15,000 during the four-day event.

Band JAAL from Pakistan and Cassini’s Division from Kolkata will perform.
