Two employees of Central Railway (CR) were suspended Friday, a day after four pantographs of a CST-bound Ambernath local train got entangled with Over Head Equipment (OHE) wires at Dombivali station Thursday morning and another pantograph of a CST-bound Kalyan local suffered damages just as the train departed from Dombivali station.
A total of 23 local train services had to be cancelled on Thursday. Outstation services were also badly affected for over three hours. A railway source said, “A maintenance block was undertaken at Dombivali station on October 9 night. After the work, these two employees failed to conduct a proper check. The pantographs are suspected to have broken down due to their alleged negligence.” The two who have been suspended are junior engineer K Z Pagar and maintainer from electrical department R R Mishra.
