In a reprieve to Mundra SEZ in Gujarat, the Supreme Court on Monday permitted already functional manufacturing units to continue operating.
The Gujarat High Court had ordered closure of all the units for want of environmental clearances. The special economic zone (SEZ) run by Adani Ports.
The forest bench of the court also issued notices to the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Gujarat government and others on a bunch of appeals filed by the units whose operations were affected after the high court order.
