SummaryCIC requests meeting to discuss team performance, Prabhakar sacking.

Just three days after Delhi\'s Ranji Trophy campaign ended prematurely, when they failed to make it to the knockout stage, the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) is contemplating an overall review of the team\'s on-field performance this season and take stock of the off-field issues that may have contributed towards the early exit. The Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) has requested that the DDCA convene a meeting to discuss, among other issues, the \'provisional suspension\' of Manoj Prabhakar as chief coach. The DDCA is also exploring options to add to its coaching staff, to help Sanjeev Sharma prepare better for the remaining one-dayers and T20 matches of the season.

Prabhakar was sacked just two days before the start of the season after speaking out against the DDCA selectors and a few senior players. Following this, his deputy Sanjeev Sharma was asked to take charge for the season. While the DDCA is expected to consider Prabhakar\'s reinstatement after the CIC backed his case and termed his suspension illegal in a strongly worded letterthere\'s also a possibility that former India medium-pacer Amit Bhandari (who is coaching the Delhi under-22 side that has reached the semi-finals of the CK Nayudu Trophy) and, former Delhi and current KKR coach Vijay Dahiya, may be roped in to assist the team.

CIC member Kirti Azad also dashed off an email to DDCA secretary Bansal demanding a detailed analysis. "With the defeat at the hands of Bengal, it is time that we take our lessons for improving our performance in the upcoming one-dayers. We need to discuss Prabhakar\'s sacking without so much as giving him an opportunity . Is it proper to sack a man of Prabhakar\'s abilities like he is a nobody? Prabhakar\'s contribution to Delhi and India\'s cricket is too well known to require further emphasis. Who took that decision without the concurrence of the CIC, or even without getting an explanation from Prabhakar," the email stated.

"I cannot confirm if Prabhakar will be back for the remainder of the season or if someone new will be selsected to assist Sanjeev Sharma but either of the two is a definite possibility. The DDCA ad-hoc committee is expected to meet with a few members of the CIC next week and hopefully we can arrive at a conclusion," Sneh Bansal said. Prabhakar when contacted, said he\'s willing to help the team. "If they
