Finance minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday made a strong case for lower taxes, better railway and other infrastructure and efficient enforcement of law and order for improving the fortunes of the tourism industry.
Talking at a conference of tourism ministers, Jaitley said the country needs to improve the facilities extended to tourists, including visa on arrival and ensure tourists’ safety in order to realise the full potential of the sector, which means greater revenue for the state and jobs for the people.
