SummaryLife has come full circle for Arvind Kejriwal, who will prepare for possible Delhi elections once again from the flat where he launched the AAP.

Putting all uncertainty to rest, Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal shifted out of his official Tilak Marg residence on Tuesday, two days before his extension for the residence runs out on July 31. Kejriwal and family moved back into Girnar Apartments in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad, where his wife, an IRS officer, has been allotted a flat.

Kejriwal was allotted the C-II/23 flat on Tilak Marg after he became Delhi Chief Minister in December. He continued to live in the house after he stepped down from his post, seeking an extension till the end of his daughter’s Board examinations .

Incidentally, life has now come full circle for Kejriwal, who will prepare for a possible Delhi elections once again from the same flat where he launched the AAP and strategised for the Assembly polls.

“This is the same flat that his family lived in before they shifted to Tilak Marg. In the initial days of the party, several meetings took place in this very flat. This is convenient because one of AAP’s offices is close by in Block-A, Kaushambi,” a senior party official said.

Kejriwal’s residence has been a subject of speculation for the last few months, with him nearly shifting into a Civil Lines residence, reportedly offered to him by Naren Jain, son of former Congress MP Bhiku Ram Jain.

The plan was, however, dropped after a legal conflict emerged within the Jain family. The bungalow was in the same compound as a house that once belonged to the family of Salman Rushdie.

The party’s 41, Hanuman Road office will serve as Kejriwal’s residence in New Delhi, the constituency he was elected MLA from.
