It is not just cars and bikes that auto enthusiasts will witness at the Auto Expo to be held next month. The twelfth edition of the expo is planned to be of much bigger scale, in terms of the size of the venue as well as launches.
The event will see launches of over 70 vehicles – the highest ever – 15 of them being global launches. In addition, there will be sidelights in line with the global trend. People involved in the organisation of expo said that the new venue at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida offers more space to organise other activities. The Auto Expo, so far, has been held at Pragati Maidan in Delhi.
“The activities will include safety driving, stunt driving, simulator and ride-on electric vehicles. This is on the lines of expos organised globally and performers from stunt driving are being brought from abroad,” he said, adding that various automobile companies are organising these activity.
He claimed that that the venue of the expo will be the largest ever.
“We will be offering 64,000 square metres of space, up from 44,000 last year, for vehicles and the components will be on display in an area of 26,000 sq metre at Pragati Maidan,” he added. As many as 75 passenger cars, utility vehicles, two-wheelers and commercial vehicles are scheduled for launch at the expo, much higher than 47 launched during the last edition in January 2012. The participation in the expo has increased from 35 to 47 automobile makers, making it the largest auto show ever hosted in the sub-continent.
