The third edition of the Bahrain International Airshow took off at the Shakir Air Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain on January 16, 2014. The airshow is organised by Civil Aviation Affairs, Kingdom of Bahrain in association with Farnborough International. The third edition of the airshow that is held after every two years is bigger and better this time with a much larger number of participating companies, including several new ones.
Speaking exclusively to Financial Express Online, Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohammed, minister of transportation and acting chief executive, Bahrain Economic Development Board, said, “The number of companies have doubled this year, with 120 participating. Companies from India is also participating, including the Defence Research and Development Organisatioin (DRDO). Sixty per cent of the participating organisations are for civil aviation, while forty per cent are defence related.”
The first day of airshow also saw the Bahrain Airport Company signing BD 1.2 million agreement with Shenzhen CIMC TIANDA Airport Support for new state-of-the-art passenger boarding bridges at Bahrain International Airport.
