“Long hours, starvation, unpaid, made to drink urine, burnt with a hot pan, beaten behind closed doors, beaten with the broom used in the bathroom, made to work naked, not allowed to use the washroom at times...,” the two-page statement of the domestic help, alleged to have been tortured by her employer Vandana Dhir in Vasant Kunj, was produced at a city court on Saturday. The statement was produced in the court after Metropolitan Magistrate Gomati Manocha on Friday said she would decide on Dhir’s bail plea after seeing the help’s statement. The court on Saturday looked at the statements of the girl and her mother, heard Dhir’s arguments and reserved the order on bail plea for October 7. Police invoked charges of attempt to murder, conspiracy, grievous hurt and trafficking under the IPC against Dhir and Dorothy. They were charged under Prevention of Atrocities against SC/ST Act and Abolition of Bonded Labour Act.
