My paddy crop is proof that following a balanced fertilisation programme can have miraculous results. Indian farmlands have the potential to be the world?s best if we use the correct fertilizers,? if these words by a farmer from Punjab are to be believed then a balanced use of nutrients can reduce the amount of fertilizers being applied to the soil by almost 80%, reduce the cost of application and increase the yield by 25-30%, on average.
Many such successful examples were reiterated by farmers from seven states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and J&K at Agromax- a conference organised by the Young Indians, an arm of CII and Aries Agro, a Mumbai based specialty plant nutrition solutions manufacturer at CII Northern region Headquarters on Sunday.
Rahul Mirchandani, national chairman- youth affairs, CII Young Indians and Executive Director of Aries Agro shared with FE that balanced nutrition is imperative to increase the productivity of Indian soil. ?As per the estimates of the Indian Economic Data Research Centre the consumption of nutrients in India will go upto 10.31 lakh tonnes by 2025.
