Ahead of the appointment of a new BJP president, the RSS on Monday announced it had assigned two of its functionaries to the party.
“Ram Madhav and Shiv Prakash have been deputed to the BJP,” Manmohan Vaidya, Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh of the RSS, told The Indian Express.
Madhav, the Sangh leader who has been the most accessible to the media, is Akhil Bharatiya Sah-Sampark Pramukh; Shiv Prakash is the Sangh Kshetra Pracharak of Western Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier this year, the RSS deputed Sunil Bansal, joint organising secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad to the BJP, where he worked with party general secretary Amit Shah in UP. Following the BJP’s spectacular showing in the state, Bansal was appointed Sangathan Mantri (General Secretary, Organisation) of the UP BJP.
The changes are part of the organisational reshuffle in the BJP from party president downward. While Shah is the frontrunner for the top post, the final decision is likely to be taken after consultations with the RSS leadership, which was to conclude its meeting in Mohankheda in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district on Monday.
RSS sources said it was for the BJP to decide on Madhav’s and Prakash’s responsibilities.
