My VII exams were just over and it was a lazy march afternoon. My friends and I were deciding what to do the rest of the month. We decided to do some social work - giving money that we would earn to an orphanage by selling cards, bookmarks, and handmade jewellery. We kickstarted this mission early the next day. We worked hard and put our heart and soul in what we did. At the end of two weeks, we made 60 greeting cards, 68 bookmarks and 30 jewellery sets. We wanted to open a stall on the ground to sell our products. But the chairman denied permission. We did not give up. We went door-to-door and received an overwhelming response as, in just 2 days, we sold all our products and earned Rs 1,500.
The first thing we did the next day was to go and give the money to the orphanage Ma Niketan .We told the receptionist and the people in the office about the money and how we had earned it. I was taken aback by the number of compliments we received but, one of them touched my heart. The senior- most nun came forward. Taking my hand, she looked deep into my eyes and said Thank you so much my child. The way you little ones work so hard for orphans means the world to us. Please take this as a token for expressing our gratitude. She gave me a beautiful thank you card. I didnt even realise I was sobbing when she blessed me and gave me a hug.
That was a day I will never forget in my life as it taught me a lot about the joy of giving back something to the society.

Compliments are recognitions which give you the feeling of contentment, self-esteem, admiration and respect. A simple reply like thank you can bring a smile on someones face. I also had one such experience. Everything was going normal and as per routine. The day was very hectic. When school was over, I was waiting for the lift. A liftman was standing in front of the other lift. As the other one arrived, he told me about it. To which I replied thank you. He was taken aback, and said, Kyun (why)? I said, "For telling me about the lift. He then smiled and said, "Thank
