Publicis Groupe has announced it is acquiring Sapient in an all-cash transaction for $25.00 per share. The acquisition will create  a platform to be named Publicis.Sapient—focused exclusively on digital transformation and the dynamics of an always-on world across marketing, omni-channel commerce, consulting and technology. With this acquisition, Publicis Groupe digital revenues will account for more than 50%, three years ahead of 2018 plan. It is aimed to accelerate achieving Publicis Groupe’s objective to become the leader at the convergence of communication, marketing, commerce and technology.

Creativeland Asia, O&M India win at LIA
Creativeland Asia has won a silver at the London International Awards for its MTS Internet Baby campaign in music and sound category for sub-category music adaptation—song. Ogilvy and Mather India won silver award in public service/ social welfare sub-category in non-traditional awards category for Message Barter campaign done for The Akanksha Foundation. BBDO was awarded the Network of the Year title for the third time in four years, having also picked up the award in 2011 and 2012.

Mukesh Bansal is marketing chief of Flipkart
Mukesh Bansal, CEO and co-founder of Myntra.com, who became part of Flipkart’s board, after the company acquired Myntra in May this year, is now the marketing chief of Flipkart. He  will also be responsible for product verticals like computers and consumer electronics, and will market the company’s private label brands too. Ravi Vora, who was in charge of Flipkart’s marketing, will now be responsible for building new in-house brands for the company. Ankit Nagori, Flipkart’s marketplace head, will now oversee general merchandise and book-retailing.

Swati Bhattacharya to head Denstu’s Mama Labs
Swati Bhattacharya, who recently quit JWT, has joined Dentsu India. Bhattacharya will be setting up Mama Labs—a new project by Dentsu India which will look at the Indian mother as a consumer. Bhattacharya will join Dentsu as principal partner, and will look at planning campaigns for brands targeting women—including digital campaigns. Bhattacharya has earlier worked with brands such as Horlicks, Airtel, Nestle, Pepsi, ITC and Unilever.
