Rubbishing the Cobrapost sting operation, BJP leader Siddhinath Singh today said that it was being used by the Congress. "The BJP and Narendra Modi are fighting against 3C's. One is Congress under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. When it failed they used CBI and now they are using Cobrapost," Singh told a rally here.
"There are certain persons in Cobrapost who were in Tehelka. Everybody is now aware of the condition and credibility of Tehelka," he said.
"It is an attempt to malign BJP, but it won't bear any fruit. The sting done by them has no truth in it," he said.
Cobrapost has alleged that IT companies were misusing social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter to artificially boost politicians' popularity and malign their rivals, with many firms claiming to be working for BJP and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Singh also slammed Tehelka Editor Tarun Tejpal, for saying that he was secular and was trapped by the BJP.
"The law will take its own course. We just want the victim to get justice. But his (Tejpal) statement that he is secular so the BJP is trapping him is strange. Does it mean that anyone who commits rape will later on say that he is secular?" Singh asked.
He said "Congress is mixing up protection and molestation of a woman. The Congress leaders who are shouting such as Sibal, Manish Tewari and Digvijay Singh should learn the definition of protection, molestation and rape."
On the sexual harassment allegations by a law intern against former SC judge Ashok Kumar Ganguly, Singh said, "It is a serious matter since the Chief Justice of India has formed a committee to investigate the matter. Lets wait for that."
