Textile major Bombay Dyeing said on Wednesday that the Bombay High Court has permitted it to hand over 66,651 square metre of land from a single location ? its Spring Mills plot at Wadala (now known as Island City centre) ? to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority. This would pave the way for further development of its mill land.
In a statement, Bombay Dyeing said the High Court upheld its petition seeking permission to surrender the land proposed for public housing, accommodation for mill workers, open spaces and other public amenities, from one location in Wadala, instead of separately at its mill lands in Lower Parel and Wadala.
