Mobile subscriptions will exceed world population, that currently stands at over 7 billion, in 2015, according to Ericsson Mobility Report for 2014 which was relased on Wednesday.

?India leads the ?Top 5? countries by net additions in the January-March 2014 period,? the report said, adding mobile subscriptions worldwide has grown by 7 % year-on-year, with 120 million net additions in the period.

The report also said that 65%of all phones sold in the March quarter were smartphones. It added that for the first time the number of active cellular machine-to-machine (M2M) devices will increase 3-4 times by 2019, from 200 million at the end of 2013.
