EI, Duke TIP to conduct a project for schoolkids
Educational Initiatives (EI), one of India?s leading assessment and research companies in the education sector, and Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) have said they will have 180 students from classes VII and VIII spending three weeks at Shiv Nadar University studying various courses. The talent search?called ?Duke TIP ASSET India Talent Search 2014??will identify the finest scholastic talents among students. Sridhar Rajagopalan, MD, EI, said there has been an increase in the number of schools that are interested in Duke TIP, adding that about 40% of the selected candidates would be girls. Financial aid is available for students who cannot afford this programme, he said.
KPMG, IICA to improve board effectiveness
The KPMG Governance Institute, the outreach arm of KPMG Academy, along with the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, is offering a two-day programme aimed at renewed learning and sensitisation of directors of corporate boards. Richard Rekhy, CEO, KPMG in India, said, ?It will help spread a sense of higher responsibility in effective functioning of boards.? The first programme is scheduled for October in Delhi.
Discovery Kids, WWF to hold Wild Wisdom Quiz
Discovery Kids and WWF-India will host this year?s Wild Wisdom Quiz?Asia?s largest wildlife quiz for children. An annual event, the quiz aims to increase environmental awareness. ?Forest Biodiversity? is the theme for 2014. The finals, scheduled for Oct 1, will be aired on Discovery Kids. The quiz will be conducted in 30 cities.
SJBIT, Bangalore, receives a placements award
Started in 2001 with a vision to provide technical education to students that is on par with the global standards, the SJB Institute of Technology (SJBIT), Bangalore, was honoured with a training and placements award. Missouri State University targets Indian students
The Missouri State University is inviting Indian students to a UG programme in Hospitality and Restaurant Administration. Any student with a (10+2) certificate with a SAT score of 1,090 (or average of 60% in year X, XI and XII) and IELTS score of 5.5 or TOEFL-iBT score of 61 can apply.
