Director Rohit Shetty\’s Chennai Express has broken all records in Bollywood, hence making its helmer the most successful director of Indian cinema.
Shah Rukh Khan\’s Chennai Express has crossed the Rs 202 crore mark today beating the record set by Aamir Khan\’s 3 Idiots.
Now Rohit Shetty\’s four films including Singham, Golmaal 3, Bol Bachchan, have made it to the Rs 100 crore club, highest amongst all the directors of Bollywood.
Chennai Express had also earned the fastest Rs 100 crore in just four days of its release.
Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures, thus Chennai Express has achieved this feat in mere 14 days of its release.

Shah Rukh Khan had said he never keeps a tab on box office collection but with the kind of response Rohit Shetty directed Chennai Express is garnering it is becoming unavoidable for him to not pay attention to the figures.
Going by the figures, its SRK\’s marketing strategy that has made the movie reach such heights.
He was virtually present at every mall, cineplex and multiple cities trying to connect with the masses.
And we must say it has paid off really well.
As a result of its clever marketing skills, SRK and Deepika Padukone starrer Chennai Express has proven to be the biggest hit of the year, till now.
The release of Ekta Kapoor\’s Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara last Friday could not stop Chennai Express. However, there were allegations made by Ekta Kapoor that Chennai Express did not not provide enough screen space to OUATIMD.
Clearing the air Shah Rukh Khan had said: “We had booked single screen theatres for two weeks. A desire came from there (Balaji) that look we are coming on August 15 and can you give us some theatres. I don\’t do the business, they (UTV) said we will give you 40 to 50 per cent (screen space) which we did.?
The \’King Khan\’ is also happy that his children Aryan and Suhana loving the film.
“I never talk acting or films at home, neither they do. So when they start liking something it feels really great. I feel very proud when they like my work. My son saw the film Chennai Express with 40 of his friends and they all liked it. Normally, my kids don\’t discuss or talk about my films at home but this film they discussed a lot and I am thrilled they did it,” he added. (With PTI inputs)
