A patrol team of the city police seized a Suzuki Hayabusa bike Sunday night as it was reportedly not registered with the Regional Transport Office in Ahmedabad.
Gujarat University police said they noticed the bike when it crossed from the L D Arts College area in high speed. The patrol team stopped the motorbike and apprehended the biker, who reportedly did not have a driving licence. Besides, the 1500-CC two-wheeler had a temporary number.
Sub-inspector Vijay Desai said, “It’s a high-end bike worth Rs 14 lakh, which the boy’s father purchased recently for him. He couldn’t explain why the registration procedures were pending. He was driving without a licence, so we seized it.”
He is a resident of Ghatlodia, police said, adding that they have registered a case of violation of the Motor Vehicles Act and other traffic laws.
The bike would be returned to the owner after he pays a penalty to the RTO, police said.
