The Pune Industrial and Labour Court has postponed the hearing of the petition filed by Bajaj Auto against the company union to Wednesday as the judge was not available on Tuesday. Bajaj Auto has filed a petition in the court to classify the ?ongoing strike? at the Chakan plant illegal. Workers have not reported for work since June 25.
The Vishwa Kalyan Kamgar Sanghatana was to submit its written submission before the court. Maruti Jagdale, president, Shramik Ekta Mahasangh, said that workers affiliated to the Mahasangh and union members along with their families would attempt to enter the Chakan plant on July 20 and take out contract workers from the plant.
Meanwhile, KJ Zanzari, vice-president, motorcycle, Bajaj Auto maintained that production figures at Bajaj Auto remained more or less the same as Monday. On Tuesday, around 710 workers reported to work and the company said it would produce around 1,700 vehicles at Chakan and 1,050 Pulsars at Waluj. Around 91% of the company’s requirement of all brands of Pulsar, Avenger and KTM was achieved.
