Crude oil prices rose by Rs 9 to Rs 4,276 per barrel in futures trade on Thursday tracking a firming trend in the overseas markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 9, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 4,276 per barrel, with a business turnover of 18,807 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in July gained Rs 7, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 4,325 per barrel, with an open interest of 4,644 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in crude oil futures price to a firming global trend.
Meanwhile, crude for July delivery gained 73 cents to USD 95.54 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
