Dhoom 3 has fulfilled box office collections forecasts of the industry pundits to ink an all-time record. The action thriller, starring Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Abhishek Bachchan among others, crossed the coveted Rs 200 crore mark worldwide in just four days.
Noted film critic and analyst Adarsh tweeted: So here’s *Fri to Mon* total of #Dhoom3… India ₹ 129.32 cr + Overseas ₹ 73.17 cr. Worldwide total: ₹ 202.49 cr. MIND-BOGGLING!
‘Dhoom 3’ breaks box office collections records, this time in Pakistan
On Tuesday, Dhoom 3 box office collections had managed 20.14 crore with Rs 19.33 crore from Hindi version, Rs 81 lakh from Tamil and Telugu with a grand total of Rs 149.46 crore nett in India alone (excluding overseas collections).
“At the rate it is racing ahead, #Dhoom3 should cross Rs 150 cr today [Tue] and cross Rs 200 crore nett by Fri/Sat. All languages. India biz,” tweeted Adarsh.
“#Dhoom3 India – Tue: Hindi ₹ 19.33 cr, Tamil & Telugu ₹ 81 lacs. Tue total: ₹ 20.14 cr. Grand total: ₹ 149.46 cr nett,” he said.
Adarsh also expects Dhoom 3’s India business to cross Rs 200 crore nett by Friday/Saturday (all languages).
Dhoom 3, third offering from the ‘Dhoom’ franchise, has also become the top opening weekend grossers in the United States. Opening weekend collection in US for Dhoom 3 amounted to $3,880,000. Previously, Chennai Express had collected $2,416,513 in opening weekend ($5,306,729 overall).
Dhoom 3 has also set new benchmarks in New Zealand, becoming the highest grosser ever there. It is also on its way to dethrone ‘3 Idiots’ as no 1 in Australia. The movie has collected A$ 1,125,010 so far.
Indicating that Aamir Khan still has his finger on the pulse of the film-going public, his bikes and babes thriller Dhoom 3 had collected Rs 100 crore in just three days, leaving behind Krrish 3, which managed the sum in 4 days.
Dhoom 3 was directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and stars Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Katrina Kaif – it was released on Friday.
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has also praised his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan for his success at the box office with ‘Dhoom 3’.
“‘Dhoom 3’ weekend collection all India is Rs 107 crore. This is going beyond all records ever !! And going beyond berserk,” Bachchan, 71, posted on Twitter.
Now, it remains to be seen how much time Dhoom 3 is going to take to beat the 15 days’ box office collections of Krrish 3’s Rs 228.23 crore.
‘Krrish 3’ is the Highest Grosser of 2013 collecting Rs. 244.47 crore since its release.
