Bollywood icon Aamir Khan’s latest release ‘Dhoom 3’, which has been breaking box office collections records day after day since its release last Friday, has bagged Rs 233.57 crore worldwide as of Tuesday (December 24) including Rs 174.97 crore (Friday to Wednesday) across India.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: “Here’s *Fri to Tue* total of #Dhoom3: India ₹ 149.46 cr + Overseas ₹ 84.11 cr [$ 13.11 mn +]. Worldwide total: ₹ 233.57 cr.”

On Wednesday itself, Dhoom 3 collected Rs 25.52 crore with Rs 24.60 crore from Hindi and Rs 91 lakh from Tamil & Telugu versions.
‘Dhoom: 3’, starring Aamir Katrina Kaif and Abhishek Bachchan, has already smashed the opening day and opening weekend collection records in India, which were set by Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chennai Express’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Krrish 3’. ‘Krrish 3’ is the highest grosser of 2013 so far, collecting Rs 244.47 crore since its release.
‘Dhoom 3’ has broken box office collections records in Pakistan in the first week of its release. ‘Dhoom 3’ craze in Karachi has reached such heights that multiplexes are running the film on all their screens and having five shows a day on one screen – something unheard of in the Pakistani film industry.
In Karachi, ‘Dhoom 3’ box office collections from 56 screens on its opening day was around Rs 20 million. This easily broke the record set by the Pakistani film ‘Waar’ last month for the highest box office collections on the first day of release.
‘Dhoom 3’ was released at a time when the screening of Indian movies has come under a cloud because of an order from the Lahore High Court barring the exhibition of “illegally” imported films.
The ‘Dhoom 3’ craze in Karachi has reached such heights that multiplexes are running the film on all their screens and having five shows a day on one screen – something unheard of in the Pakistani film industry.
Dhoom 3, third offering from the ‘Dhoom’ franchise, has also become the top opening weekend grossers in the United States. Opening weekend collection in US for ‘Dhoom 3’ amounted to $3,880,000. Previously, Chennai Express had collected $2,416,513 in opening weekend ($5,306,729 overall).
‘Dhoom 3’ has also set new benchmarks in Australia and New Zealand, becoming the highest grosser ever there. The total collection of the film has gone up to NZ$ 331,578 (Rs 1.68 crore) in New Zealand and A$ A$ 1,152,769 (Rs 6.35 crore) in Australia.
In the UK, ‘Dhoom 3’ has also collected ?1,312,490 (Rs 13.32 crore) so far.
The business of ‘Dhoom 3’, however, was limited in the international markets as majority of cinemas were closed on December 25 due to Christmas holiday. But ‘Dhoom 3’ business is set to witness a boom again from December 26 onwards.
