The DMK on Sunday said comments greeting people on the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi on party treasurer M K Stalin’s social networking page were put up without seeking his permission.
“There is a comment in his social networking portal extending greetings to people on Vinayaka Chaturthi. The people who handle his portal have commented out of enthusiasm. It has been made without seeking the consent of M K Stalin,” the party said in a statement.
Vinayaka Chaturthi was celebrated on August 29 and a comment on Stalin’s official Facebook page says “Greetings to all on the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi”.
The post has stirred up a storm as it ran quite contrary to Stalin’s father and DMK chief M Karunanidhi’s practice of not greeting people on Hindu festivals.
