Eid boosts Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’ box office collections to Rs 100 cr

‘Kick’ box office collections triumph was announced today by…

Taking a chance with fate has always been superstar Salman Khan’s style statement and he has done the same with the release of his latest film ‘Kick’ even though box office collections could have been adversely affected.

Salman Khan released the film during Ramzan with Eid falling on the 5th day and that is a risky proposition as festivals simply mean people have duties to perform and enjoy themselves at home or with relatives and friends – watching films does not usually fall into the agenda.

But then, no one seems to have told Salman Khan that as is evident from the stupendous success ‘Kick’ has notched up in the few days it has hit the screens.

The ‘Kick’ box office collections triumph was announced today by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, saying that the film has entered the super-elite Rs 100 crore club today.

Salman himself explains the phenomenon aptly, “Dill me aata hun, samajh me nahi.”

Guess ‘Bhai’ does know best!

Movie review: Salman Khan in ‘Kick’ is ‘Unjhelable’

‘Kick’, starring Salman Khan in lead role, Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been making great progress, despite being panned by critics, and has already become the No. 1 release of 2014 ? the film raked in Rs 26.50 cr in box office collections on opening day, Rs 27.15 cr on Saturday and Rs 30.18 cr on Sunday.

Still, there was some disappointment for Salman Khan fans as it failed to break the records of the actor’s previous releases ? ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘Bodyguard’ – the former entered the Rs 100 crore club in the opening weekend while ?Bodyguard? raked in Rs 88 crore in same period.
