The programme offers open curriculum-based education on technology topics such as virtualisation, cloud computing, big data analytics, and information storage and management. The curriculum focuses on technology concepts and principles applicable to any vendor environment, enabling students to develop skills required in such niche areas.

?Institutes including state universities have adopted our programmes as 40 hour modules which make the students industry ready. We are creating data scientists through our programmes on big data,? said Rajesh Janey, president- EMC India and Saarc.

NMIMS, Amity University and BITS Pilani, among others are a few institutes which have tied up with EMC. Students who undertake the programme are certified by EMC.

Of the 200 odd institutes, almost 85% are private colleges and the rest are government polytechnics. While majority of the institutes are engineering colleges, two business schools and three polytechnics have also joined EMC?s alliance.

?We train the teachers of these institutes to impart these programmes to the students. We started the progarmmes in 2005 and have trained more than 900 instructors till now. Besides India, the programmes are popular in China, Russia and the US,? Janey added.
