Emraan Hashmi-Humaima Malick starrer 'Raja Natwarlal' box office collections have opened on an average note with an opening day business of Rs 6.10 crore.
With the Box-Office collection reports, which have been coming in from all quarters, it seems that 'Raja Natwarlal' has managed to collect average collections over the weekend also at the ticket windows.
The film's box office collections stand at Rs 17.4 crore with Rs 6.10 from Friday, Rs 5.15 crore on Saturday and Rs 6.15 crore on Sunday.
This year's best opener has been Ajay Devgn-starrer 'Singham Returns' with Rs 32.09 crore, followed by Salman Khan's 'Kick', which made Rs 26.40 crore. The biggest opening weekend film has, however, been 'Kick' (Rs 83.83 crore).
Though the advantage of a holiday release is always favourable, the footfalls at theatres have been relatively low due to the Ganesh Chaturthy festivities. This drastic decrease in audience turnout, apart from the religious festivities could have also stemmed from the fact that the film lacked good and catchy music and the rather low key pre-release promotions.
Besides Emraan Hashmi has been on a slow turn with his last few releases failing to generate the mass hype that usually comes attached with his releases.
However, remembering the fact that Emraan's star power comes not from the multiplex going audience but from single screens, the film's collections are expected to take a leap over evening and night shows.
