Chandigarh-based airhostess training institute Flying Cats, which was the first such institute in India to offer a one-year university diploma course in aviation, travel and tourism in technical collaboration with the Annamalai University, soft launched a three-year bachelor in business administration (BBA) degree course in aviation here on Monday.
Flying Cats will officially launch the course in New Delhi on April 24 in the presence of its channel partners, the UK-based Active Solutions Consulting Group (ASCG) and others. ASCG helps the institute place its students in different airlines, both national and international. The course fee is Rs 60,000 per annum. The Annamalai University also offers a BBA degree in aviation.
The institute chain, operating on a franchise basis, officially inaugurated its 53rd centre in the country here on Monday. Miss India 2008 Parvathy Omnakuttan inaugurated it.
The institute that provides practical training on mock aircraft, has a star-studded faculty, which includes Malaika Arora Khan, Neha Dhupia, Tanushree Dutta, Aditi Govitkar, fashion designer Ashley Rebello, speech expert Sabira Merchant, make-up expert Cory Walia and Miss India Amruta Patki, among others. They enhance overall looks and skills of the students through V-Sat connected virtual classrooms.
Flying Cats' one-year university diploma couse, which has a course fee of Rs 1 lakh, comes with a practical training trip to Singapore with a 10-hour in-flight aviation training and another 10 hours of ground handling training at New Delhi and Changi airports. Institutes like Flying Cats, Frankfinn and Air Hostess Academy have been stepping up their presence in India anticipating an aviation, travel, tourism and hospitality industry boom, which is expected to generate 40 lakh jobs by 2010.
