It is one event which, surprisingly, is virtually going unannounced. Katrina Kaif has completed a decade in the industry but neither have there been any celebratory events nor has there been any brouhaha made around it. Instead, it has been a rather quiet milestone achievement for the heroine with the Midas touch.
"It was 10 years ago on 19th September 2003 when her debut flick 'Boom' had hit the screens. Though the film was widely panned, Katrina was noticed. The film is a rare flop in her otherwise fantastic repertoire that has seen over 80% success rate, something that no other heroine in last 10 years has managed to achieve," comments an observer. Though 'Boom' is one film which Katrina too would be happy to forget, the fact remains that it was this Kaizad Gustad directed affair that marked her baby step in the industry. Post that, she has taken quite a few huge strides and her 10 year celebrations are all set to speak with 'Dhoom 3' round the corner.
"In these 10 years gone by, she has delivered many superhits and also been recognised as an actress," an industry insider remarks, "Also, she has managed to be as pretty as she has ever been which has allowed her a long stint in the industry. Battling competition from established actresses, peers and newcomers, Katrina has managed to keep her positioning in the top bracket intact. This is all set to sustain with 'Dhoom 3' followed by 'Bang Bang'."
While the industry continues to be gung ho around the lady who has been in news for good and not-so-good reasons lately, Katrina continues to maintain a stoic silence on her one decade milestone. Perhaps she would, once it would be time to do all the talking for 'Dhoom 3'.
