Gold prices fell by 0.34 per cent to Rs 26,049 per ten gram in the national capital today as speculators indulged in profit-booking even as metal marginally up in overseas markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in August fell by Rs 90, or 0.34 per cent to Rs 26,049 per 10 grams in business turnover of 6,818 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in October contract lost Rs 67, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 26,140 per 10 grams in 166 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in gold futures to profit-booking by speculators but a firming trend overseas, limited the fall.
Meanwhile, gold added 0.1 per cent to USD 1,261.07 an ounce in London.
