'Gunday' box office collections, which took a flying start on Valentine’s Day and became the ideal date movie, closed the second week as a Rs 100 crore grosser and the newest entrant into the exclusive 3-figure club.
According to Yash Raj Films, 'Gunday' box office collections had been Rs 99.22 crore ($16.6 million) with Rs 82 crore ($13.7 million) coming from India, and Rs 17.22 crore ($ 2.9 million) from overseas.
Starring Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, 'Gunday' opened well to good reviews from both audiences and critics alike. Gunday box office collections had been a good Rs 54.93 crore net in India in the first five days after its release, surprising analysts and laymen alike with its successful run.
'Gunday' box office collections on opening day were Rs 16.12 crore followed by Rs 12.63 crore and Rs 15.18 crore on the weekend. However, the second weekend figures have dipped considerably in domestic as well as international markets.
The expectations from Gunday, which opened in 2,800 screens across India, have been all-time high after the first trailer was launched and a robust collections were definitely on the cards.
In the Yash Raj Film, Priyanka Chopra plays the role of a glamorous cabaret dancer Nandita in the 1970s of Kolkata and is romanced by both Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.
