The policy, which will be formulated by the state farmers commission, will help the various schemes and adopt such practices that will benefit the farmers. Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda has directed the state farmers commission to give recommendations so that the farmers get all the information and technical guidance at their field itself rather than going to different offices. He said that he had already assigned the job to the best agricultural scientist of the world, RS Paroda, who has taken over as the chairman of state farmers commission.

RS Paroda, chairman, state farmers commission, told FE, ?A technical group has already been formulated for the task and we shall soon initiate talks with the progressive farmers, intelligentsia of various universities in the state and state government departments like water, power, agriculture etc. The draft of the policy is expected to be ready within the next six-eight months.? He added, ?Though the elements of the national agriculture policy will be kept in mind but the focus will be to ensure more productivity and profits to the farmers through crop diversification and resource conservation. Issues like linking farmers to the market, saving production losses, exploring export potential will also be considered.?

AK Yadav, DG agriculture said, ?The basic purpose of framing state?s own agriculture policy is to bring to the fore area specific needs and set priorities for future action.
