Hate Story 2 is a revenge-thriller of a young girl who, after suffering severe sexual violence, goes on a killing spree. As the film has several violent and sexually-oriented sequences, director Vishal Pandya recalls how lead actress Surveen Chawla’s countenance would change when she would shoot for these scenes.
“During the shooting of such scenes, Surveen always preferred to be alone. She would ask me exactly how I wanted her to enact the scene and after that she would hardly talk to anyone but would be working on her scenes and lines,” revealed Pandya who has earlier helmed Loves Lies Betrayal.
However, one sequence of sexual violation was so brutal that the actress suffered from a temporary nervous breakdown as she was stunned by the violence.
Chawla, who is making her big screen debut after having worked in television serials, said, “During this particular scene with Sushant Singh, I felt completely violated and abused as though I was actually experiencing the sexual assault. I instantly related to women who go through sexual abuse and the trauma it causes. I felt their helplessness and my heart bled for them.” She added that coming out of the character and such scenes would take her some time.
The cast also includes Jay Bhanushali. Hate Story 2 is produced by T-Series and releases on July 18.
