Most consumers in India who shop online prefer to pay for their purchases in cash upon delivery, rather than prepaying through credit or debit cards, finds a study by global logistics company DHL.
While the proportion of Indian consumers looking to buy merchandise such as apparel and electronics is significant, the number of actual orders they place lags the global average.
The number of customers returning goods bought online is also higher than the global average.
