Huawei unveils new ‘Ascend’ smartphones, price starts at Rs 5,000

All these four new launches will focus on strengthening the company?s smartphone portfolio available in four different series – Y, G, P and D series.

Y series is a budget phone category and is designed for the price-sensitive youth and the smartphones in this category falls in the price range of Rs 5000- 10,000. The G series, the Gold series falls in the price range of Rs 10,000-20,000. The P series, the Platinum series exists in the price range of Rs. 20,000-30,000. And, phones that costs above Rs. 30,000 are the Diamond series, known as D series.

Huawei Ascend G700, introduced at IFA 2013, sports a 5-inch HD IPS Touch Screen with 720×1280 screen resolution and G610 comes with a 5-inch qHD IPS Touch Screen with a screen resolution of540x960pixels. The huge and bright screen of the phones helps in capturing intricate details and makes them ideal for watching movies, playing games etc. Running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, the phones are backed with a 2150 mAh battery. Powered with a 1.2 GHz Quad Core Processor, the phone is capable of delivering high speed performance and enables users to switch between tasks and home screen without any lag. While G700 boasts of an 8MP camera, G610 features a 5MP camera. Both the devices come with a LED flash which can be used to take pictures even in low light conditions. G700 also facilitates video calling with a 1.3 MP front facing camera. Users can download their favorite apps, music, games at a download speed of 41 Mbps in G700 and at 21 Mbps with G610. G700 and G610 have an 8 GB and 4GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 32GB to create a music or movie library in the phone. Connectivity options in the phones include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with A-GPS. Elegantly designed, enhanced by high-speed performance, with a remarkably large screen both the smartphones provide the ideal canvas to all eBook readers as well. G700 is available in Black and is priced at Rs 17,999/- and G610 is available in Black and White and is priced at Rs. 12,999/-
