Hyundai Motor India Ltd on Monday reported a 11.58 per cent increase in its total sales in August at 52,319 units as against 46,886 in the same month last year.
The company's domestic sales stood at 28,311 units during the month, marginally up from 28,257 units in August 2012, HMIL said in a statement.
Exports during the month rose by 28.87 per cent to 24,008 units from 18,629 units in the same month last year, it added.
Commenting on the sales, HMIL Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing Rakesh Srivastava, said: "The exports have shown decent growth on account of strong demand from non-European markets while the domestic market continues to witness pressure."
"We expect the challenge to continue in the coming months as well until there is a significant change in macro-economic policies," Srivastava added.
