Trinamool May move censure motion entailing voting against UPA
October 22: After a bitter separation with the Congress, the Trinamool Congress is mulling moving an adjournment motion or a censure motion that entails voting in the winter session of Parliament against the anti-people policies of the UPA government. It also did not rule out the party moving a no-confidence motion. We are keeping all options open including tabling an adjournment motion or a motion under rule 184 (censure) that entails voting besides moving a motion under rule 193, leader of the Trinamool Congress Parliamentary Party in Lok Sabha Sudip Bandyopadhyay told PTI.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has skirted questions about her Prime Ministerial ambitions so far, at least in public. But it is not that she does not like to be talked about being one. The Trinamool Congress mouthpiece in its latest issue has published a huge report on the retirement speech of Calcutta High Court Chief Justice J N Patel at a function organised by Banerjee. In that speech, Patel, while praising Mukherjee, had said after a Bengali President, it was probably now time to have a Bengali Prime Minister as well. While he did not explicitly mention Banerjee as the potential PM, the party magazine did not fail to draw the obvious conclusion, and headlined its report accordingly.
