A majority of Indians consider themselves as the most hard-working lot after Americans, says a latest study.
According to a study by Monster-GfK, 85 per cent of the people surveyed in India say they think US workers are most industrious.
GfK is an independent global market research company.
Besides, Indians rank their own nation a close second, with four out of five Indians (81 per cent) considering themselves a hard-working nation, followed by China (79 per cent) and Germany (75 per cent).
"As we have seen, Indians are generally an optimistic people, imbued with a positive, entrepreneurial attitude and they have great faith in the commitment of their fellow workers," Monster.com Managing Director Sanjay Modi said.
"The minority of Indians who do not consider their country's workforce industrious might think about whether their own work environment influences this view if they don't feel inspired by the attitude of their colleagues, it may be time to find better," he added.
It was conducted among more than 8,000 people in countries like Canada, France, Germany, India, Netherlands, the UK and the US, including 1,016 in India.
The survey said that two in five (40 per cent) Indians have a strong belief in their country's competitive spirit, but the majority of the population actually doesn't feel fully confident about their country's ability to completely bounce back from economic hardship.
