Infosys has entered into a multi-year agreement with German auto giant Daimler to provide a host of technology-related services. This deal will cover management of infrastructure services and data centres, providing e-collaboration and middleware services as well as overseeing database operations.
Infosys has completed the takeover operation of the European data centres of the automobile manufacturer. It will support the continuous improvement and implementation of best practices in data centre operations and standardisation of service delivery, according to a release issued by Infosys.
Infosys said that their collaboration will look at optimising data centre operations using secure cloud technologies. The service will be delivered out of Daimler’s Enterprise Operations Office in Bangalore.
Commenting on the agreement, Ruchir Budhwar — associate vice-president and head of automotive in Europe, Infosys, said, “This engagement reflects our proven expertise in managing large infrastructure programmes, reinforces our strategic focus on the automotive sector and significantly expands our growing presence in the German market.”
