The UP government is planning to develop a new “Integrated Industrial Township” on 1,115 acres of land at the Naini area of Allahabad.
The proposed township would be in addition to the existing 500 acres of industrial area in Naini.
The proposal was finalised during the visit of SP Singh, Principal Secretary of Industrial Development Department, who has been allotted Allahabad district for monitoring of development and welfare schemes.
At a meeting with district officials in Naini, it was revealed that the Directorate of Industries has land in Naini that can be used for an industrial township project. The proposed township will have residential, commercial as well as institutional areas.
“The township is significant and we hope to attract good investments as it is located near National Highway 76. It would also be close to the proposed regional growth centre alongside the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor,” said SP Singh.
The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation has been chosen as the nodal agency to develop the basic infrastructure. UPSIDC Managing Director Manoj Singh said the land available with the Directorate of Industries would be transferred to UPSIDC for the purpose.
