Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath today said the leaders of some opposition parties are "anxious" as their issues are not being given due importance in Lok Sabha.
Noting that the Speaker of Lok Sabha is the custodian of the House, Nath said opposition party leaders are planning to meet Sumitra Mahajan to "express our anxiety on the matter".
"Some parties are feeling that many of the issues which they want to raise are not being given the importance which they need to be given. We are thinking of calling upon the Speaker to express our anxiety on the matter," Nath told reporters outside Parliament House.
He, however, did not name the opposition leaders who have expressed "anxiety".
"The Speaker is the custodian of the House.... (The Speaker) must not only be fair, must appeared to be fair. The opposition must have a say, the government can have its way. But the opposition must have its say," Nath said.
