Jaganmohan Reddy in poll mode, promises to fulfil YSR dream

Sounding the election bugle, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy went into the ?my government? mode Sunday and presented the picture of the welfare state his YSR Congress Party would create after gaining power in the coming elections. He announced a string of welfare measures for all sections with a promise to infuse credibility into the decaying political system.

Addressing the second plenary at Idupalapaya in Kadapa after being elected president of the party, he said: ?My government will fulfil YSR?s dreams. During my interaction with the people I could understand the plight of students, women, old people and farmers.?

?Farmers? welfare will be the top priority for my government. We will set up a market stabilisation fund and see to it that minimum support price does not remain an issue. Power supply will be provided for seven hours initially and gradually increased to nine hours. A new 101 service will start to offer soil-testing and other advices to farmers and 102 will be a veterinary clinic. Two ministers will be assigned the portfolio of agriculture,?? he said.

Jagan Mohan said new life would be breathed into the Aarogyasri scheme and all the deleted ailments and more added to the list. ?The 104, 108 services will be made more effective. After coming to power, old-age pension would be increased to Rs 700 from Rs 200 and an Amma Vadi scheme introduced where Rs 1,000 would be credited to mothers? accounts for education of two kids each,? he said, adding that all illegal country liquor shops would be closed and local women appointed in the police force for the purpose.
