Jindal Power began their campaign in the Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Scindia Gold Cup on an emphatic note, as they beat ASC-RVC with a big margin in a Pool B match-up on Day 1 of the tournament. Akhil Sirohi had four goals and Angad Kalaan scored three as Jindal beat ASC-RVC with a 10-3½ scoreline.
Both the other matches of the day were between teams from Pool A. The second match saw Sahara Warriors take on 61st Cavalry. Both teams went neck to neck till the last minute of the final chukkar. Maj. Ravi Rathore scored the winning goal for 61st Cavalry, who beat beat Sahara Warriors by a single goal, the final score being 5-4 goals. The third match saw a face-off between Jindal Steel & Power and Action Polo, a clash that was alive till the last few seconds of the contest. Abhimanyu Pathak played exceptionally well scoring three goals for his team, including the winning goal in the dying seconds. Action Polo defeated Jindal Steel & Power by 6-5½ goals.
