Ekansh Trust, Pune in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) - Western Region will organise a job fair for people with disabilities on January 10 and 11. The job fair will take place at Harshal Hall Annex, Kasat Chemicals compound, Kothrud between 10.30 am and 4.30 pm. With a motive to prepare people with disabilities for interviews, a pre-job fair training session in soft and interview skills will be organised on January 5 at the BBA building of BMCC college. The first batch will be trained between 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and training for the second batch will take place between 2 and 5 pm. Entry is free for all candidates.
The job fair, co-sponsored by Forbes Marshall, Eaton and Innoventive Tubes will witness participation from companies such as AMDOCS, Ansec, BNY Mellon, Cummins, Herbinger, Hightemp Furnaces Ltd, HSBC, Infosys, Praj, Serco, SKF, Wipro and Weikfield. A press release said, “The job fair will provide an opportunity for potential employers to open their gates for candidates with disabilities. We also request the participation of facility providers such as housekeeping, gardening, canteen management. Basic literacy and communication skills (verbal/non-verbal) are pre requisites while English language skills and higher academic qualifications or work skills will be a definite plus."
The organisers have appealed that the candidates may carry simple (non-messy) packed meal for the job fair as there is possibility that they might have to stand in queues. In 2010, the fair witnessed participation from 1,000 individuals.
