Japanese company, Kawasaki, has expanded its superbike offerings in India with the launch of two new bikes ? the Ninja 1000 and the Z 1000. Kawasaki is also preparing to launch a super sports bike in January, which the company believes will be a game changer and help them dominate the superbike segment in India. The company is also studying the possibility of launching their dirt bikes in India.

India Kawasaki Motors (IKM) launched the two bikes as completely build units from Japan which will be retailed through the stand-alone Kawasaki showrooms. The first such showroom is operating in Pune and the second one will soon open in Delhi. The Ninja 1000 and Z 1000 are both priced at R12,50,000. Yuji Horiuchi, MD, India Kawasaki Motors, said they are targeting sales of 100 units a year of each of the two models. With this launch, Kawasaki now has four superbikes in its India portfolio.
